happy easter ...

It means so much at Easter time
To keep in touch with friends
To wish them happiness and cheer
And joy that never ends

This brings heartfelt greetings
Especially for you
Together with best wishes
For a happy Springtime too!

The lovely postcard above was part of my bunny bundle from Kim at Ragged Roses. I love old postcards, especially if they have been used. This one is postmarked Shoreham-by-Sea, which is the next town along the coast to me, which makes it all the more interesting, dated 8th April 1955. This is what it says on the back. I think you will think, some things never change at Eastertime, like the weather!

'An Easter Bunny for you.
Raining hard here tonight, hope it doesn't upset our gardening programme tomorrow, no paper and no football.
Can always sleep of course.
Yours Win'

I used to spend a lot of time at Shoreham when I was young as my favourite aunt, my mum's older sister, lived there in a house right next to the airport.

Hi Louise. Your old postcard is very cute. Whenever I visit Cape May, I stop in antique stores and read their old postcards. You have some nice poems as well. I may use the one from today for my class next week.
Thanks for your comment on my blog.

Happy Easter Louise!

The bunny napkin looks wonderful! Good job!

I would be happy to send you some Marshmallow PEEPS if you e-mail your postal address to me.
I'm surprised they haven't exported them to Great Britain as yet. They are as prolific as bunnies in spring here. :-)

Mmmmmmm --I love hot cross buns!

Hugs, Pat

Happy Easter Louise.... I haven't even tried a napkin yet...but want to see if I can do it. I posted the instructions on our periwinklepunch site...but after reading the instructions...thought it looked complicated ..and my eyes were too tired to bother.... tomorrow is another day....

Have a great Easter!! Love all the bunnies, we went to the pet shop today to buy some goldfish as our guina pig Miss Peaches died on Thursday - :( and we saw the BIGGEST lop rabbit you've ever seen. He was there to be adopted and called Bug A Lugs!!! Mr Twiggy said we have to stick to fishies - mutter mutter - not fair etc :)

Hi Louise
Hope you had a good weekend and were able to keep warm! I loved the message on that postcard too - especially the comment about "no football"! It made me smile when I read it.

Hi Louise, I love reading the back of old cards too, they were so matter of fact in what they said and often just as if they were exchanging a few words in the street. Well yes, I did put away the chocolate - I gobbled it all up! I'm pleased with my new kitchen arrangement though I think I still have too much 'stuff'.
Hope you had a lovely Easter.

Hi Louise, what a gorgeous Easter postcard, you can almost hear Win's voice reading those words..I imagined him to be very British and proper-like!
Can't say I'm into The Apprentice, caught some of the last series but I feel too embarrassed for them when he tears them to pieces! but the Housewives are back on..now thats a different story!
Best of luck with your boxes..hope you show and tell!!
