the apprentice ...

Couldn't give a monkeys, or love it as much as I do?

Series Four of The Apprentice UK, the sixteen week job interview, starts tonight at 9.00 on BBC1, followed by the You're Fired programme at 10.00 on BBC2. Sixteen new contenders will be battling it out to see who can be the one to outshine all others in the set tasks, culminating in who is eventually hired in the boardroom and not fired. I can't wait to meet the contestants, and as ever, wonder where on earth they get 'em from!

Tonight's task will see an attempt by the apprentices to sell fresh fish, and whoever makes the most profit, will have a meal cooked for them by Michelin star chef Jean-Christophe Novelli.

Update: Well how did it go? Well let's just say the apprentices were way in out of their depth, if you'll pardon the pun!

The former I'm sorry to say. That's why I'm writing this comment whilst it's on! xx

Hi Louise!
Your Prince is mentioned in my blog today ;-)

I don't like the American version of The Apprentice that much -- maybe because of Donald Trump?

Hugs, Pat

busy baking fish for supper...no time to watch 'em sell it.

hahha.... I don't even know if we get your show here....but enjoy. You're right though with that type of show...where DO they find the contestants? There are some real doorknobs.

I absolutely love each series of this programme and have just watched this first episode but not the follow up programme mainly because I couldn't bear to watch anymore of the one who was fired. It never ceases to amaze me what high powered jobs some of the contestants have when you consider how they behave (though I know it is very editted). Roll on next episode.

I love it, always think what a bunch of morons I won't get sucked in this year, but I do !!! I blogged while I watched it tonight, but caught Siralans gem about the bloke he fired having an outstanding grade - eeh he could be on the stage!

Well I must confess.. I have never seen this series..It probably clashes with Ray Mears, or Top Gear or something equally yawny! I must wrestle with the remote control man more often!

We get hooked each series - the chap that got fired in the first epi was never going to be Siralan's cup of cha!

Top Gear is not yawny! *hello! Richard Hammond!*
The Apprentice is something I enjoyed the first series it was on... after that I think I just forget it was on. I will be watching Jordan & Peter tonight and I don't care what anyone thinks! I don't!

Louise I am an avid fan of "The Donalds" apprentice here in America! Tonight is the finale so we will see if the Brit celebrity wins..my bet is on him. sunkissed NG

Well, I know I might sound controversial, but I prefer the British version of almost anything. The Office is one case in point. No matter what my friends say, I STILL find the American version silly.

That said, we're hooked on Survivor. A few seasons back I had a crush on a Survivor guy named Ozzy. He was a clever, quiet guy who could do seemingly anything. Then he appeared on this season's show, hair all cut off, with a rather more inflated opinion of himself, and I lost my yen for him. My 6 year old daughter, however, finds him dazzlingly impressive.

Does your British host have a comb-over like The Donald?

Hey Louise! Hope all is well with you. I think I had told you we're big fans of American Idol. We look forward to it every Tuesday night.

Enjoyed the verging on Class War, which seemed to be only in the minds of the public school types. Although neither of the team captains really got to grips with the basic idea of the task, to set up a market stall effectively. Maybe we should put it down to nerves. Only goes to show that qualifications don't necessarily equal success in business. Sir AS and Sir RB both cased in point. What qualifications has 'The Donald' got too? I bet he is a similar profile.

Hi Louise, I love The Apprentice! Is that a bit sad? It's one of those programmes that draws you in as you learn about the different characters and imagine how you could do the tasks so much better. It's a bit of light entertainment on a Wednesday night anyway.
