Just being ME

Please say hello ... I love comments!

my photos

airbourne and two awards ...

You may have noticed from a couple of my previous posts that I have been preoccupied with the weather just lately. Is this a British thing? Anyway, the weather hasn't been too bad over the past few days. These blue skies were taken on Friday am, whilst I was outside in the garden.

You might like these photos Flighty? The aerobatics team The Blades were doing a stint over the surrounding areas of Shoreham airfield and were no doubt down here for Airbourne at Eastbourne, which winds up today. The next main event in the airshow calendar is Shoreham Airshow 2008 which is held at the historic Shoreham Airport, this year on the weekend of the 30-31 August. Fingers, and everything else crossed for good weather, last year the weather was really good.

I received this award today, I love your blog from Sal's Snippets, thanks again. Sal often leaves comments on both my home and garden blog, all of which are very much appreciated. Sal's blog is a great read of crafting, collecting, local history, gardening, all subjects I just happen to be interested in.

Wow! Nice to see the blue sky and the aircraft that seem to be celebrating as well! There is a great site that shows the best airport webcams in Europe:
which includes the excellent Shoreham Airport webcam with its changing views

Congrats on your lovely awards which are well-deserved!

Such a delight to see blue skies! I am glad it is not hot though because I prefer cool weather. Louise I am very flattered that you have chosen me for an award but I am afraid I am going to have to decline your kind offer as I am a bit lazy about fulfilling the terms of acceptance! Thank you for thinking of me. You are one of my dedicated commenters too!

Many congrats on your two awards Lousie and thank you so much for the 'I Love Your Blog' you have given me....
The weather is just depressing...I feel grey! but as soon as I spy a little tiny bit of blue it makes me smile and I feel quite jolly, not for long though. I was in on the beach today in gale force winds. Remember as a child on holiday it was always sunny everyday and for two weeks...that never happens now.
Thank you again Louise.

Spectacular images of the airshow, Louise! And many congratulations on some well-deserved awards. It's neat to get visitors from far away places, isn't it?

Thank you Louise for giving me this lovely award, I will get right on it.
I think you are right about the weather and it being a British thing, whenever I would call my parents in England we would usually spend half the phone call talking about the weather!lol

It's great to watch aerobatics like that against a blue sky, and thanks for the linked mention.
Shoreham is always a good show so fingers crossed that it's good weather.
We talk about the weather as we do because we're a nation of gardeners!
Congratulations on the well deserved awards! xx

Congratulations on your blog awards. I've got lots of catching up to do here as I've been on summer holidays.

Love the sky photos - my daughter used to live at Shoreham and, when I visited her by train, I always used to look out for the airfield as I knew the station was coming up soon!

Like your West Pier photo too and wonder whether anything is happening with that now? There was a pier regeneration scheme planned some years ago?

Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog - much appreciated.
