the 19th shoreham airshow 2008 ...
No shortage of rain was there this month, no shortage of cloud was there this week, no doubt the weather is going to be abyssmal for the airshow on Saturday? Well as you can see the weather turned out just perfect, thee of little faith!
Above are the fantastic RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team. To see the Hercules which carried the team up, coming in to land on the airstrip was an amazing sight.
During the show the airfield was attacked by German ME108 and ME109 aircraft, resulting in a Spitfire and Hurricane scramble. Set to pyrotechnics and with lookalikes on the ground, this display is a definite blast from the past!
No Captain Mannering, but there were some good stand-ins with Dads Army making an appearance!
This Hurricane flew alongside an Avro Lancaster bomber. A stunning display as ever.
The world’s only formation wing-walking team sponsored by skincare giants Guinot, using Boeing Stearman bi-planes.
Team Guinot performed spectacular new sequences. Having appeared from show number one, this year saw a unique sight of five aircraft with wing-walkers.
Haurel and Lardy are amusing. I must say, like a big kid, I was chuckling all the way through their act. I think Olly noticed, as he gave us a wave as he and Stanley drove off!

What an amazing day! How accommodating of the weather to send in the blue hue! Really enjoyed looking at the photos, and wish I could have been there to see all the action! I can't imagine being a wing walker. Some people must crave excitement and adventure ~ and be very brave! Thanks for sharing your day! Haurel and Lardy...hehe ~ they look great!
What a lovely day to go plane watching! I think the Laurel and Hardy lookalikes look really good. I especially like the expression on 'Stan Laurel's' face!
I love Laurel and Hardy ever sinds i was a little girl.My daughters when they where little found them to be very stupid, how could it be possible that a person could do so many stupid things in a row. One of the girls always left the room when we where watching a video, she realy hated to watch "two idiots"! Now she finds them just as funny as i do..timeless laughter

Wow, what a lovely way to spend time - I love Laurel and Hardy..:)
In view of what the weather could have been like it it looks to have been just about perfect. From your entry and photos it appears to have been an excellent show enjoyed by one and all.
I bet the Hercules was an impressive sight! xx
Wow! These pictures are really great!
It looks to have been a wonderful day! Lucky you!
Sadly, the Sunderlad airshow this year, was a washout! :o(
We were camping on Saturday and the weather was delicious wasn't it? We always use to drive back from our summer holidays in France (via Portsmouth) on the weekend of the shoreham airshow and would gaze up at all the airplanes, it looks fab

i'm so pleased the weather was good for you -- i can never understand why anyone would want to wing walk though!!

What great pictures! I love the air show. We have one in our area every two years and I can't wait to go this July. It's so much fun! I can see you had a great day.
What a fabulous day, Louise! It all looks exhilarating.
Laurel and Hardy look so much like the actors who played them ... they are so funny aren't they?

I love airshows! So does hubby since he grew up in the Air Force, his dad was career. Thanks so much for the wonderful photos! I had not really seen much Laurel and Hardy until I got married, my husband loves them and now I do too! This pair looks like they would do a credible job.
I have the greatest admiration for anyone who jumps out of a plane, I have no head for heights and would surely die of fright.
Great photos!
Lovely day!!! And beautiful photos!
