how to be happy ...

When you're busy in life doing all those things you really don't want to be doing, we sometimes forget to -

take a reality check - cherish friends and family - show affection - be kind often - have a laugh - look after yourself - be grateful - spend time in nature - slow down and learn to relax - forgive.

Words by Maggie Richards - an interesting article if you want to read it.

Photo by me - the light and dark side of a perennial Geranium.

I think we all need to just slow down and relax more. Sure would make the world a nicer place. Have a wonderfully relaxing weekend Loiuse.

so true, the other day I was rushing around trying to do housework and washing and loads of other things and then I just thought, nah, so I left everything and went for a walk with Gabe :-)

Very wise words - I've just read the article - thanks for the link:) Our geraniums are out now around the lawn, the pink are always first to flower then the blue follow - the bees love them:)

I felt so guilty the other day because I was just sitting, but I agree, everyone needs to be kinder to themselves.

hey Louise.... I see you stopped by my blog.... it reminded me you are here .... ... love the DArk side of a perennial.... lol....

and....may I just reiterate .... if we are too busy to be having fun and enjoying each day....it's time to jettison at least some if not all of the "stuff" that is causing the problem.

Our summer is soooo short...and this one in particular is just not co-operating.... arrgghhh...and...I am trying to take golf lessons, so am a bit put out by the rain and cold. Today...I am baking to cheer me up and getting all the inside stuff done so that when the sun shines...I am OUT there!! Can you believe I still don't even have plants in my pots yet? And...the basil I did plant early... died... from frost bite and exposure, I guess..... bummer......This year Mother Nature is not a very nice lady...as a matter of fact just the other day I called her a Bit*%.... sigh..... oh, well.... she never promise a rose garden did she.... ? ..hmmmm... or maybe that was somebody else? ......

Hi Louise,

My life has certainly been hectic for the past five months! I have been constantly reminding myself of what is really important.

Your photo is fabulous. I love the colour of the geranium.
