remembering mum on her birthday ...

Today along with my step-dad, on a chilly but sunny afternoon, we take a trip to the crematorium to visit mum's plot. Included in the present for her birthday, a posy, are pretty Asters also known as Michealmas Daisies, just like in the photo above. Her ashes lie in a beautiful area of countryside just north of the South Downs, with wildlife abound, where I am happy in the knowledge she is peacefully at rest.

When someone dies we miss them very much, always and forever remaining in our thoughts.

Somebody said time heals all wounds.... well, ...it doesn't. Perhaps it "sort of" makes it a bit less painful or we just toughen up or something....

My Mom died in '08 and I still miss her a lot. Some days I still think... oh, I must tell Mom about that...and I walk towards the phone....... how I wish I could call her like I used to do and gab long distance for over an hour....it seems so long ago some days and others.... it seems like only last week....
Sending a hug for you on this anniversary of a sad day....

Lovely post today Louise, I lost my mum almost six years ago now and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of her, sending big hugs your way.

So many shared feelings and sympathy. I know. Your Mum is lucky to have had you as a daughter. I just lost my Granny (a second Mum in a way). So very lovely of you to visit her.

Big hugs to you Louise. We'll be visiting my Dad soon at the crematorium. My Mum always takes red roses, I always take Stargazer lilies. He died May 2002,I think about him every day.
