my photos

isn't she lovely ...

I know many of you in blogland love cats, as it happens so do I. This sweet tabby cat came to befriend us whilst we were sitting in the picnic area of a very special house and gardens in East Sussex. I think perhaps a case of cupboard love, as it was after morsels of my pork pie! More about our visit here in a future post.

After this stop we travelled on into the beautiful Kent countryside to stay one night at Elvey Farm in Pluckley. Remember The Darling Buds of May, many scenes were filmed in and around the village. Pop Larkin in the pub, and the church where Mariette and Charley got married.

This is our very comfortable room, a converted farm outbuilding. Well I say comfortable, I couldn't get on with the rolltop bath, and I am only five foot two!

This was the view from our room of idyllic Kent countryside and buildings. Perfick!

I used to love The Darling Buds of May. I wanted to be part of that family. The placed you stayed at looked cosy and comfortable. I used to have a tabby like the one in the picture.

This looks like a very pleasant, peaceful place to have a vacation, Louise.
I love the begging kitty -- he's so compact and at full attention looking at your pork pie! :-)

That looks like a lovely place for a holiday. I know what you mean about getting down about your appearance, well done you though for losing weight. Thank you for your encouragement.

You stayed in a beautiful place Louise. The roll top bath does look gorgeous even if it wasn't practical.

Wow, you British sure know how to live. Between you and Cowboys and Custard, I'm thinking I need to move to the UK just for the weekend getaways.

What a silly kitty coming to say hello if only to beg. I sure love animals and their little personalities.

I hope your getaway was rejuvinating. :)

That sounds wonderful Louise, I have often driven past Pluckley and wanted to stop and explore! There must be something in the air, as I was thinking about The Darliing Buds of May yesterday! Lovely cat too. Have a good weekend, the sun's shining!
