my photo

seventy ...

I love this photo of my Mum, recently rediscovered whilst sorting through a box of old photos.

She looks happy.

My Mum lost her battle with cancer at the age of 62, today would have been her 70th birthday.

I try to imagine how she'd look?

Your mum was very pretty, as with all those who die young, she will never grow old as we that are left grow old. I often think the same about my sister who was ten years older than me, I lost her 14 years ago so now I am the older sister.

I hope you find comfort in the happy days you shared.

That truly is a great photo.
Your Mum looks lovely and very happy. Where was this image taken?
I will be thinking of her today, thinking a lot of late. I am so sorry to hear that you lost your Mum to cancer and so young. Sadly my Mum is there but not there if you see what I mean. There is just a tiny bit left of her memory now.
Sending you fondest wishes Louise.

What a beautiful re-discovery! Your Mum looks as if she is looking at someone she loved very much.

It's a lovely photo - I immediately thought it would make a perfect book jacket - you'd definitely want to turn the page and read...

What a lovely photo of your beloved Mum. I lost my Mum ten years ago this year - had she still been here she would have been 93. My father who died when I was 5 would have been 100 this year. I bet you were so pleased to find that happy photo:)

How lovely it is to look at photos of our parents when they were young and happy! My mum passed away 2 and half years ago, and I love looking at old photos of her but cant bring myself to look at the more recent ones. So scattered around the house are ones of her at 2,10,17, in her twenties and thirties but none in her 70s as I find them too painful. Elizabeth from countryrosecorner
