lemon ...
I bought some lovely yellow lemon teatowels from Tchibo the other week, a pack of three for under £4. They are of really good quality and do a great job of brightening up a kitchen. You can often pick up a bargain from Tchibo, they change their stock every week, and with every purchase you get a free coffee!
A favourite of mine is lemon curd, the expensive, cheap and of the homemade variety. Lemon curd is traditionally eaten with bread or scones, but I often use it in a sponge cake, making up a basic Victoria Sponge recipe and filling with lemon curd, an inexpensive variety from the Sainsburys Basic range.
Waitrose sell the most amazing French recipe bread, delicious spread with Country Life butter and more lemon curd.
There is now approximately a teaspoon left in the bottom of the jar!

Those lemon coloured towels just perk up the day! They're so lovely!
I shall have to look out for Tchibo.. though I rarely go shopping these days..but could badly do with some new tea towels and a slice of cake!
I have a lovely lemon cake recipe by Delia Smith with homemade lemon curd as a filler... it is my son's favourite. I'll send you the recipe.

I've always liked lemon meringue pie! xx
I don't believe I've ever had lemon curd, but I like little lemon pound cake muffins. I love the yellow tea towels, yellow is such a bright, cheerful color!
Wonderful tea towels, I love the color, very Spring like!
And I thought I was the only one that loved lemon curd, I was thrilled when I found it over here in the USA, I too eat it on scones and toast!

The lemony tea towels are so springlike. They match my daffs!!! I think I need to make some lemoncurd. My tastebuds are tingling!
I didn't know Tchibo gave a free coffee with every purchase. I shall now visit as we have a branch in my nearest town. I love lemon curd too but have got out of the way of buying it, I shall put in on my shopping list. I have just eaten 3 slices of toast and bovril - yummmy.
That's very hungry making!
We dont have Tchibo here, but it sounds good value!
It is ages since I even thought about lemon curd! It used to be so popular and easier to make than jam I think? I could just go a piece of bread and lemon curd mmm.
Ooh I love lemon curd. The tea towels look lovely too....they make me look forward to Easter and Spring.

I saw a lovely jar of lemon curd the other day and walked on by. But now. Now you've got me wishing I'd picked it up.....
I love lemon as well as the color yellow, too. What a cheerful post ... wish we had one of those stores here in the US.
I also love lemon curd ~ and lemony anything ~ it's easy to make, too, and lovely in a jelly roll, as you say :) It's always uplifting to find something sunshiny to brighten up the kitchen. Thanks for the tangy post :)
Yum. What a delicious post Louise! I love lemon curd/butter/spread as it is variously called here. I'm hungry now!
Ooh what glorious yellowness!! Lovely tea towels. Cake and lemon curd all look delicious - I'm a big lemon curd fan too.
Just found your blog via Ragged Roses and have now bookmarked you so I'll be popping in again soon. Happy days. Denise
