I voted for mince pies. ...I've never had stollen. I voted for mince pies. I LOVE mincemeat but it has to be the vegetarian kind - no suet for me! Most years I make my own mincemeat 6 weeks ahead of Christmas, then make mince pies, but this year I forgot! Woe is me! I was never that crazy about my mum's Christmas cake, the cake part was too dark and the royal icing was hard and too sweet. When I make fruit cake, I don't cover it in marzipan or anything, we just eat it as it is (as per the recipe on my blog recently) and we like it.
I don't know what Tunis cake is, but I remember Battenburg - do they still sell that over there? It's the one with a checkerboard effect inside, pink and yellow and undoubtedly full of artificial additives, then covered in marzipan.Nicolahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17550530825314280346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3842020420169015671.post-79914733795214762342007-12-22T22:16:00.000+00:002007-12-22T22:16:00.000+00:00Love your little polls, Louise :-) I'm not really...Love your little polls, Louise :-) I'm not really a dessert girl, but I do like buttercream frosting in very small doses. The Russian dolls were given to my daughters so not sure where they came from, think it might be Whittards (they're made by Lindt).
Kimx
The snowballs are mints, so your crown would be safe!Ragged Roseshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08339985100168927169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3842020420169015671.post-30555086023600512132007-12-22T17:57:00.000+00:002007-12-22T17:57:00.000+00:00Hi Louise, oh dear, I missed out on your poll, but...Hi Louise, oh dear, I missed out on your poll, but for the record my favourite is Christmas cake, but must have loads of marzipan and icing!
